Museum Janning is a small art museum in the restored old rectory of Nieuw-Schoonebeek, dedicated to painter-priest Hein Janning, and has housed a remarkable escape room since its 2020 relocation. In the Da Vinci Escaperoom, Leonardo da Vinci guides you for 90 minutes in search of the Holy Grail: you crack an ancient crusader code, navigate through a laser matrix, and try not to commit 'sins' along the way — each mistake or hint costs you folded hands that you surrender to the game master. Hospitality is part of the experience: coffee and snacks upon arrival and refreshments during play, as the game takes you through the historic museum. The scarce reviews are glowing about the atmosphere, warm welcome, and the feeling of stepping back in time, but the museum is barely visible on escape platforms and has no rating score.
