About this venue
JP Activiteiten is not a classical escape room provider but an activities bureau on Kloekhorststraat in Assen, specialized in 'escape hunts' for large groups (8 to over 100 people). Instead of a room you get a chase game with live actors: in the Al Capone Hunt the capos of the gangster boss hunt you down while you must find his hidden drugs within 90 minutes, and in Hunted a 'secret service' with paintball guns is after you. There's also Walk Dine & Escape, a city game through Assen's center where you eat a course at four restaurants and collect codes per course to defuse a bomb. Participants praise the smooth, enthusiastic organization and the thrill of being chased; more critical voices say the puzzles can be done in random order and therefore lack a real narrative thread.
